Funny you mention the spare wheel/tyre on the bonnet. I always took time to remove them and store in the back when driving during my military service. Others hated me doing it but the extra visibility was well worth the effort. Even in 1991 while in Iraq and Kuwait I did it. RHIP you know.

That was a labour of love. A very nice none military spec SWB Land Rover, I've driven dozens while in the army and love them. Shame it's a "wrong hand drive" and not right. I'd buy one otherwise. I wonder if you do Forward Controls?

Beautiful! I love the color. My sister had one and now it's sitting and waiting for full restoration, since she passed at age 42. I would love to be able to restore it an drive my kids around town in it, as a tribute to Aunt Monica.

Nice finish condition. I don't see the need for disk brakes. My SII 109 basic can lock up the wheels on a dry road if I need to.

Could I ask, on your restorations what doors do you use? Which manufacturer? I'm currently restoring a military 110 and getting decent qualiy doors is a challenge. 👍

It might sound stupid but hot wheels just released their take on this gen of land rovers. Cool thing about the casting is the body and the base are metal which is not the norm for hot wheels anymore. The soft top is off, the windshield is flipped down onto the hood and theres a surfboard onnthe passenger side and its green. Its really nice but not as nice as your restored beauty.

Any guesses on the hp of the engine now with the fuel injection? I understand it's mainly for the fuel offered and ease of starting in all weather but I would think a minor bump in hp.

Excellent upgrades on the S4 trucks now. Good info as usual on every component, especially on the tires. I think I'll be going to the Michelins on my ex-RAF 90. The spare on the bonnet seems so big. Thanks Mike!

If I did another one...(I grew up with and Love the look of Series Landrovers..I have owned 7 and restored one to factory - ish) I would probably use a Toyota or something, diesel engine and transmission.....Landrover ones always seem Ok for about a year...then the leaks start and you have to take it all apart to stop them.

That sand color is nice, I like that much better than the typical green or blue that you see.

It looks so cool all original like that; it gives it that extra bit of character; there's just something about seeing it worn but still with the factory paint, as you say. It 'looks' the part. Good old Land Rovers!
